Dale, take a look at the following zoom photo taken from below the wooden bridge on the Glen Aulin Trail. From right to left is Grey Butte, tip of Virginia Peak, and Stanton Peak. Down in the "V" to to the left of Stanton is one or possible two distant peaks. Is that Whorl Mt., Matterhorn Peak or something else?

P.S. Since you didn't upload any photos of the "Beautiful Valley" to your online collection, am I to assume that you didn't actually go over the small granite hill (between the two bridges) into Glen Aulin itself? The High Sierra Camp isn't really in Glen Aulin.
[That route is on my list of "bunny hikes" that I like to use to introduce newcomers to backpacking. I've lost count of the times that I've encountered people on the trail who told me that they were at Glen Aulin, meaning the HSC, but had absolutely no idea that the entrance to the real Gleann Alainn (in proper Gaelic) was 50 steps away.]
"Statue of Marmot" is new to me; never seen a picture or heard it mentioned before. Looks like another worthy photo edit.
No, I did not venture into the real Glean Aulin valley since the HSC represents an 11.6 mile round trip for day hiking.
Didn't see any chicken rock formations,-----very disappointing!

Just for the record there is no "Statue of Marmot".
That is just some ruse by the Fracturnal Order of Marmots and their ploy to get a Casino within
the confines of the Park near Dana.
