Who woulda think that there was a trail THERE? (and lightly-used at that!)

Trip 11 is 31 miles and it is suggested that distance can be covered in 12 hours (that is pretty impressive)

Yes,but but but--- swampy southwest end, or east near current picnic area, or shore along old road between May Lake trail head and Tenaya??? I an always intrigued by finding the remains of these old developments and intrested in trying to imagine what it was like when they were in use.

I think it was on the swampy end. But I don't know where I read that.

According to the old maps it was S of the creek and E of Tenaya Lake.
On one of the maps it even says "Gas - Oils".

These camps were all over the park!

per week, $17.50; per four weeks, $65.00.

Tenaya Lake Lodge — Sleeping quarters in canvas bunga-
lows. Per day, American plan, $4.

Tuolumne Soda Springs Camp — Sleeping quarters in can-
vas bungalows. Per day, American plan, |4.

Merced Lake Lodge — Sleeping quarters in canvas bunga-
lows. Per day, American plan, $4.

Camp Curry (beneath Glacier Point, south side of Val-
ley) — Board and lodging: per day, $2,75; per week,
$17.50; per four weeks, $65.00; tub and shower baths,
35 cents; plunge baths 50 cents.

side of Valley) — One person, per day, 53.75; per week,
522.75; per month, 590.00. Two persons, per day, 53.00

Notice the Camp Curry fees for showers and baths. And we still complain about this today?

The description from above "Tuolumne Soda Springs Camp — Sleeping quarters in can-
vas bungalows. Per day, American plan, $4." suggests that there may have been a camp near Soda Springs as opposed to the current TM HSC location.

The map I pointed to is one of my faves. 1919.
Not only does it tell you which way is East ,
but it also has a number of no longer existent trails like:
-The Vaunted Goat Gulch Venue (Poopenaut up toward Eleanor)
-Slide Canyon thru to Smedberg
-Alkali Creek trail
-Table Mountain trail
-Clark Range trail (Illilouette past S. of Starr King)

re. Soda Can Lodge - ... The Sierra Club actually owned some property near Soda Springs.
Parsons Lodge is still there now.
