From 'Laws Field Guide to the Sierra Nevada' it looks like Pennyroyal or Monardella. The bee might be Urban Anthophora. (Or not.)

Thanks for the info, Strix. I have my answers: Flower = Monardella odoratissima; bee = male from genus megachile (Leaf-cutting and Resin Bees).
Glacier canyon was a suprisingly beautiful and serene hike. I wish I had taken more macro shots along the way. I read in the other post that the hike up Mt. Dana is full of scree. Is it similar to the potentially ankle-twisting talus I encountered as I approached Dana Lake?

Scree of all sizes and ankle-twisting potential await you at Dana! (it is still a neat hike and an excellent training area for the bigger summits off 395)

I might as well head to the top then! Hopefully next summer....
