avatar Climate change researchers: Yosemite NP to have 19% more fires
November 02, 2009 09:50AM
According to researchers who published a recent paper in the International Journal of Wildland Fire (Volume 18[7] 2009), climate change will increase the number and burn severity of fires in Yosemite National Park. Using fire records, weather data, and satellite imagery they analyzed the fires in the park that occurred between 1984 and 2005.

Boy are they going to have egg on their faces if there are 19.5% more fires. Worse yet if there are only 18.5% more fires. That will throw the whole climate change argument into turmoil.
I think they should round and use language with a little room for variance from the hard three significant digit predictions.
