avatar Proper pronunciation of "Chilnualna"

Hi All:

One of the drawbacks of hiking solo and keeping to myself on the trail is that when I come across new names while looking at maps, books, etc, I come up with a way to pronounce that word in my head, but don't know if I'm right. So, how do you pronounce "Chilnualna" (as in Chilnualna Falls)?

I feel silly when I do bring it up in conversation and I find out I've gotten it all wrong.

This is a nice little falls, by the way, for those who haven't been there.

My understanding is the it's pronounced el porTAL
the other is chill new ALL na.

I've been wrong before but only once.

It's from one of the Miwok dialects that is no longer spoken therefore the word can never be uttered and anybody that tells you different id making stuff up..

Now that I think about I find most things that require a sense of wit, fun, whimsy, etc. are in fact useless to some people.
