As you begin making plans to get up into the Sierra this winter, don't forget about Badger Pass, the small but stellar ski area in Yosemite National Park.

There is a 'Badger Pass' in the Tehachapi mountains also. Tejón is the spanish word for badger.

In the late fifties, early sixties, everyone I knew who went skiing from the Bay Area would go to Badger Pass. After the 1960 opening of I-80 eventually those resorts become more popular as the years clicked by.
