When I hike to Waterwheel Falls in July my brother in law is planning on hiking up from Hetch Hetchy and meet me. What are our options for picking up his wilderness permit. Thanks Ken

The Hetch Hetchy entrance station is the closest/easiest.

There is usually no problem getting a permit to go up the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne from Hetch Hetchy. The hike from HH to the Toulumne River is pretty ugly until Pate Valley. Look into his starting from White Wolf down to Pate Valley then up towards Toulumne Meadow.

I am not sure I understand. Are you suggesting a route that is better scenery?

Your bro in law gonna need a lot more days than you.

So... I think we need more information. I would think he arrives a couple days before you
and goes to Hetch Hetchy entrance and picks up his permit and starts a hiking.
Prob. gonna take him at least 4 days to get to Waterwheel.

Tell him to say hi when he walks by my homestead, Loch Tablae.

Chick-on is looking at you!

I think the plan will be that I drop him on Sat. and my hike starts on Monday. He plans to be to Waterwheel falls by Tues or Wed I guess. He is doing a month long hike on the PCT later this year. I guess this is kind of a warm up.
