Some campgrounds on the Plumas National Forest in northeastern California have opened while some at higher elevations remain covered with snow. Open campgrounds include those at: Lake Davis and Frenchman Lake near Portola, Feather River Canyon, Strawberry, Feather Falls, Rogers Cow Camp, and Milsap Bar on the west side, Snake Lake and Red Bridge near Quincy, and Antelope Lake east of Greenville. Higher elevation campgrounds remain covered in snow and are inaccessible due to snow depth: Lakes Basin, Bucks Lake, Silver Lake, and Little Grass Valley. Hiking: visit Feather Falls or Bald Rock and make sure to take plenty of drinking water when hiking. Trails in the Lakes Basin and Bucks Lake Wilderness areas are still covered with snow.
