And how can I get to Happy Isles before 7:00 AM?
Can I use my own car to get there early morning?

Drive to the Trailhead/Backpackers parking lot.

Instead of turning left to go to Upper/Lower Pines camping grounds you need to go straight. Ignore the "Official Vehicles Only" sign. The parking lot is the second right turn.

From there it's a short walk. I'd suggest you NOT take the road. There's a trail that’s a pleasant walk through the forest and Fen to the back side of Happy Isles .

As was mentioned, you just keep on going. There's a sign (eeek posted a picture years ago) of the sign for the parking lot. It may say full, but it rarely is. Even if it was full at one time, they're somewhat slow to update the status.
