The park forestry crews plan to resume tree hazard mitigation work, weather permitting, along the Big Oak Flat road between Rattlesnake creek and the Crane Flat intersection on Tuesday 6/1. The tree work is part of the Big Meadow fire burned area emergency rehabilitation. Trees that were killed by last years fire and that have been determined to be a hazard to the public, employees or the road will be mitigated.
Traffic control will be in place and delays can be expected. The Big Oak Flat Entrance can expect surges of traffic exiting the park in 15 to 20 minute intervals. This work will continue for 2 to 3 weeks.
