It's in the Park. My guess it's about 250 ft. drop.

Anyone go anwhere this weekend?
Traffic was horrendous coming back. Over 1 mile backup on 120/108 intersection. Yummy
Thank goodness 205 is 3 lanes thru Tracy

Is that one of the secret waterfalls that we spied somewhere along the tunnel road (on the "magic ponds" trip?)(I fully admit that I do not "know" the waterfalls of Yosemite the way that most do)

How reminiscent to think of a back-up at that intersection -- it used to be that way every single weekend that I know of.

Sorry. Wrong in so many ways.
Look at it closer. Does it look like valley?
Look at that snow coney. Look at the flows below the main flow.
200 ft. is a low estimate. It's at least that tall. If there were
someone below you would be barely able to make them out.
And that photo is I think something like 8x zoom or more.
I'll put a no zoomy shot if there is any interest.

All last year that intersection... most I ever saw was a handful of
cars... although I went to Kings last year at Memorial Day.

Actually, no, it does not look like the valley at all -- too much contour. I was taking an easy guess because the shape of the waterfall reminded me of that one that we spied on the side of the wall. I am not very good with the waterfalls. We need to get RangerBob in here and see if he recognizes it! Post the bigger peek-chure in hopes that other clues will appear.

I should bee more specific: about 15 years ago, that intersection used to bee the dread of anyone passing through that area, which was why I was so surprised that all last year, there were hardly any cars through there.

Uh... there were two other pictures in other posts of the general vicinity.
I'm guessing you didn't see those. Those will provide more clues.
And I didn't see a SINGLE person, no one. nada. zip. Entire 3 days.
Just me and the bird. I guess the goat pack has become the chick-on twosome.

Did the SAR people put a splint on his leg before moving him?

He says the rubbery legs are just to attract the chicks. He doesn't
need legs, he just flys from place to place. I guess he didn't want to get
his cape wet but his big bum was burried in the snow.

He says he's an angel and this proves it.

So what was your route to get there? Seems like a heck of a place to get to this time of year.

Probably easiest just to show GPS tracks. Kibbie Ridge TH part omitted.

Camped ridge NE of Spotted on day 1. day 2 up Nance and back to Mercur Saddle. day 3 home.
The snow was pretty amazing. I wouldn't have wanted to do it without snowshoes.

If you're interested Mt. Clark is in this vid I took from Mercur Saddle.
The first thing I zoom in on is Nance Peak.

From youtube if you search for yosemite chick-on you'll find a vid from atop Nance.
I didn't realize the zoom worked so well otherwise I would done that atop Nance too.
O well... new camera...

Enjoy

Kendrick Creek Falls up above Edith Lake, with Tower Peak in the background?

You got it. Kendrick Creek Falls.

That's not Tower though. You can't see Tower from Nance. The peak you are referring to is Haystack.
I have a shot of Richardson Peak which is pretty cool though. Richardson has a square summit block on it.
Sticks out quite a bit. Luckily it's not too difficult to pull yourself up onto the top.

Also from Nance you can look straight down on Edith, 2000+ ft. below.

Vaguely thought it might be that fall since I saw it up close back in 1979 while at Edyth and thought at the time it was odd such a large fall was not on the 15 minute topo of those days. Have also been to top of Nance while camping at Spotted Fawn.

If you have a photo from below with it flowing I'd love to see it.
Here it is in October from last year.
You can get an idea just how large it is by looking at the trees...

Here's the summit block of Richardson I was talking about:

It's not too bad to get on top. You "only" have to pull yourself up the last block by going around the backside.
Hiking poles there give it some scale.

Here it is from Nance Peak area. This is zoomed in something like 12x.
