Wearing a clip-on tie will repel most intelligent females. Not that I have any first-hand experience.

Intelligent young ladies, of course!. Hearsay has it that you know at at least one very intelligent female. Bee that as it may.
Besides, your average sheila is smarter than your average bloke.

"Wearing a clip-on tie will repel most intelligent females. Not that I have any first-hand experience."

Haaa! Hilarious, but true!

I need a clip-on repellant for solicitors coming to our door every now and then:

new window sales people ...
the neighborhood make-up vendor lady ... "Revlon" maybe? ...
LDS preachers - young guys that are very well dressed and polite ....
Jehovah Witness preachers - not so young nor well dressed, but still polite ...
the newest one: an older lady with trays of strawberries;
high school students selling raffle tix;
girl scout cookie solicitations;

... well, just to name a few ... who am I leaving out ...?

... usually my funky b.o. and bad breath are reasonably effective repellants ..

I think those new clip on repellents may work if you are stationary. It operates with a little fan, blowing repellent vapors out a limited space. Watch the commercials and look at the packaging closely. The people are all sitting or laying down. Even if you are sitting, if there is a wind/breeze, I assume you will be wasting your money too.

I tried it while stationary. Got lots of bites while doing so.

Thanks. I got a good laugh out of your response.
Any ideas on how to send funky b.o. and bad breath through the telephone to discourage telemarketers?

Thank you for calling. Can you please tell me the date for my next competency hearing?

When I was in the midwest a few weeks back my wonderful mother (clueless to the backcountry but trying her best) brought the clip-on up and I had a hard time believing that would save me from the Vogelsang onslaught. Someone else mentioned to me the other day that the Avon Skin So Soft lotion helps deter them. What I do know is I'm up for a killer mosquito scar season-but they are more welcome than a New Zealand sandfly bite any day of the week-those bites itch for weeks and are painful when they get ya!!! I still have PTSD from my bites from March!

Contrary to what all the Eco-freak, tree hugging, prop 65 bigoted, left wing, commie pinko, bleeding heart liberals will say, OFF is the best thing to prevent mosquito bites.

I have a friend who uses the Off Clip-On when out observing for hours with his telescope in a stationary position. He claims it works rather well for him in that situation.

I found the combination of Permathrin treatment for my clothing plus daily use of REI #30 on exposed skin works pretty well. This year I will put it to the Vogelsang test. Everbody seems to report that Vogelsang is a Yosemite mosquito staging area.
