The road will close each evening at 9:00 p.m. and reopen at 5:00 a.m. the next morning with one opportunity for traffic to pass through the construction area at 11:30 p.m. each evening.

The construction zone is located along a 1½-mile section of the Generals Highway in Sequoia National Park between the main park entrance on Hwy. 198 and Giant Forest.

Drivers should be aware of several safety considerations in the construction zone. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane at times. Drivers must follow a pilot/lead vehicle when work is in progress. Vehicles will be allowed to drive through the construction area at the top of each hour from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; uphill-bound vehicles go first.
