Lower Pines camping?

I am looking to bring my young teenage sons to the park in June 2011 to take a climb up Half Dome and I used to stay at the lower pines somewhere close to the rivers edge. The view up the river you could see Half Dome from the site. I came up while I served in the Marine Corp. in early 80's and my last trip was in spring of 91. Can't remember what site it was. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good, shady camp sight on rivers edge?
