On December 24, 2010, two visitors hiking the Chilnualna Falls Trail in Wawona were approached by a mountain lion. The visitors acted appropriately by grouping together, waving a big stick, and yelling at the mountain lion. They also reported the incident to the Wawona Ranger Station after returning from their hike.
