...Potentially wet weekend...

This hazardous weather outlook is for all of interior central
California.

.Day one...Today and tonight

Hazardous weather is not expected.

.Days two through seven...Saturday through thursday

Another storm is headed toward california. For the central
California interior saturday and sunday...There is a small threat
That significant rains may redevelop...Especially saturday night
And sunday.

There is still considerable uncertainty on the track of the next
System...And whether it will or will not move inland. If it does
Move inland sunday...There will be significant rain and mountain
Snow. Rains could aggravate an already soggy ground with more
Street and lowland flooding.

There is also a small threat of accumulating snow on the desert
floor over the weekend.

Stay tuned to noaa weather radio or your favorite news outlet for
the latest on this developing situation.

The winter storm watch above 4000 feet is now in effect from late
Tonight through late sunday night for the higher elevations of
The southern sierra nevada.

* snow accumulations: 6 to 12 inches at and above 4000
Feet...With 1 to 3 feet of new snow in the high country.

* timing: the heaviest snow will begin over yosemite national park
Late tonight...Then spread south early sunday. Heavy snow will
Continue into sunday evening before tapering off by monday
Morning.

* locations include: camp nelson...Giant forest...Johnsondale...
Lodgepole...Shaver lake...Huntington lake...Yosemite valley.

* winds: southeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph creating
Blowing and drifting snow over higher elevations.

* impacts: snow will affect travel into the southern sierra
Nevada. Accumulating snow could impact travel on all highways
Into the national parks as well as other winter resort areas.

The lower foothills of mariposa county...

This includes the cities of...Merced...Atwater...Los banos...

* a slow moving storm will continue off the central california coast
Today. This will spread moderate to occasionally heavy rain into
The central san joaquin valley and adjacent foothills. Already
This morning...One half to one inch of rain has fallen in many
Areas...And an additional inch of rain is possible today. This
Combined with already saturated ground conditions...Means water
Will quickly pond and smaller stream and will fill.

A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However...All interested parties should take necessary precautions
Immediately.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
Creeks and streams...Highways and underpasses. Additionally...Country
Roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks...Streams and other low
Lying areas are subject to flooding.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
Roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
Safely. Move to higher ground.

To report flooding...Have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
Your report to the national weather service forecast office.
