...First winter storm in nearly a month to hit the southern
Sierra nevada...

.A developing pacific storm will move into northern california
Saturday...And bring heavy snow and gusty winds to the southern
Sierra nevada during the latter half of the weekend. The heaviest
Snow will fall from yosemite national park to kings canyon. This
Will be the first significant winter storm to hit the central
California interior since january 2nd.

Through late sunday night.

* snow accumulations: up to 10 inches in the high country of the
Southern sierra nevada.

* elevation: snow level will be between 4500 and 5000 feet sunday
Morning...Lowering to around 4000 feet by sunday evening.

* timing: snow will begin saturday night...With the heaviest snow
Sunday and sunday night. Snow will taper off monday.

* locations include: shaver lake...Yosemite valley...Tuolumne
Meadows.

* winds: gusts to around 55 mph over the higher elevations may
Create areas of drifting and blowing snow.

* impacts: people living in or traveling into the southern sierra
Nevada should prepare for winter weather conditions. Be prepared
For road closures or delays...And consider postponing travel until
Conditions improve.

A winter weather advisory above 5000 feet remains in effect from
9 am to 9 pm pst sunday for the southern sierra nevada from
Yosemite to kings canyon.

* snow accumulations will range from 4 to 7 inches at the 5000
Foot level to as much as 10 inches at and above 7000 feet.

* timing: snow will begin sunday morning and continue...Heavy
