The construction zone is located along a 1½-mile section of the Generals Highway in Sequoia National Park between the park entrance on Highway 198 and Giant Forest. (Specifically, the construction zone is located between two local landmarks –Amphitheater Point and Deer Ridge.)

• Traffic may be restricted to a steep, narrow, and winding single lane.
• Drivers must follow a pilot/lead vehicle when work is in progress.
• Uphill-bound vehicles will be allowed through the construction area first at the designated times listed in the schedule above.
• Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and other factors.
• The upper traffic light is approximately 500 feet above Deer Ridge.
• Special Note to Campers at Potwisha Campground in Sequoia National Park: Road construction project work is being completed in the overflow area adjacent to the campground. You may hear this work while in the campground.

The portion of the Generals Highway from Hospital Rock to the Giant Forest Museum is currently closed to vehicles greater than 22 feet in length. This restriction is expected to be in effect until May 2012.
