The models are also showing a good chance of another storm next weekend. What a year.

Even weirder for this time of year, from the current Monterey (formerly, San Francisco) Bay Forecast Discussion:

NWS-Monterey
SNOW LEVELS WILL LIKELY BE UNDER 4000 FEET LOCALLY WITH EVEN LOWER
LEVELS POSSIBLE DURING SHOWERS ON SUNDAY.

My only concern with rain this time of year in Yosemite, is if it is a warm rain, it could increase the snow melt too much and result in widespread flooding within Yosemite Valley. The best and safest precipitation right now is the cold variety that won't dramatically increase the snowmelt .

By then they may be so tired of plowing that they'll just decide to forget the whole thing and go fishin' or something.

That works for Jim (tomdisco).
His trip is scheduled for 18-24 August.
