Which driving route is more scenic?
May 30, 2011 05:55PM
I'm going to be traveling from Reno (bowling tournament) to Oakhurst on 6/15, then into Wawona for a week. Knowing that Tioga won't be open yet, which Highway would be the more scenic, CA-88 or CA-4? Haven't been either way before so if anyone has an opinion please weigh in.

Thanks

I would probably choose 4.

Me too. But it is slower.

Scenic often is. (We didn't come home via Death Valley yesterday for speed!)

One thing 88 has going for it that it is kept cleared for dam tending so it's open when 4 might be closed. I haven't done 4 so I can't compare the scenery.
