For immediate release.

Clovis, CA (May 27, 2011)...A memorial fund to help maintain The Mono Pass Trail in the Sierra National Forest has been established by the family of the late Hebert London, wilderness activist and owner of the Rock Creek Pack Station near Bishop since 1947.

London (92) who passed away March 31, had been active for over 60 years in working with Sierra National Forest officials to get enough funding to properly maintain trails in the National Forest.

Memorial Trail Maintenance Fund donations are tax deductable and can be sent to the 3 Forests Interpretive Association, 30330 Watts Valley Road, Tollhouse, CA 93677 or online at http://www.3forests.us.

London's son, Craig said the family will help the Forest Service identity those sections of trails in need of the most work including repair of water bars and fixing dangerous rocky jumps. The goal is to increase safety and enjoyment of trails for current and future generations of hikers and riders who travel over Mono Pass.
