...The flood warning remains in effect until 500 pm pdt tuesday for
Western mono county...

* flood warning for small creeks and streams...
In western mono county in central california...
This includes small creeks and streams near...Bridgeport...Twin
Lakes...Toms place...Mammoth lakes...Lee vining...June lake...
Crowley lake...Coleville and topaz lake.

* until 500 pm pdt tuesday

* flooding continues to affect campgrounds...Back country roads
And hiking trails in western mono county. Flooding has been
Reported along desert creek and throughout deadman creek
Campground. There is partial flooding in all campgrounds through
Lee vining canyon including big bend...Aspen...Moraine...And lower
Lee. In addition...Mcgee and convict creeks are considered
Hazardous to cross and a washed out pedestrian bridge was reported
Today by minaret falls.

* creeks and streams in mono county continue to run near or at
Bankfull and those in the back country are very dangerous to
Cross. Snow bridges across streams have collapsed during crossings
And people have fallen in the cold...Fast moving water.

* forest service road 027 near desert creek is uncrossable with
Approximately 4 feet of water flowing across it. Many forest
Service roads in western mono county are washed out.

* if you are camping near a river or stream...Remember the highest
Water levels usually occur at night. A campground may look dry
And safe in the afternoon...But may flood at night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
Roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
Safely. Move to higher ground.

I'm wonder what it's like in the Tuolumne Meadows area. The snow melt must be having a visible impact on it's creeks and streams, too, right?
