The Inyo National Forest will host a Travel Management public meeting on Monday, August 15, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Forest Service office at 351 Pacu Lane in Bishop. Forest Service staff and partner organizations will share their latest information and answer questions about how and where Travel Management work is being implemented, and what is planned for the future in managing the Forest’s roads and motorized trail system.

As fieldwork continues throughout the summer, the Inyo National Forest wants to share its progress in implementing the Forest’s 2009 Travel Management decision. Volunteers, partners and Forest crews have already been working across the Forest to repair system routes, add signage, block and disguise unauthorized routes, and monitor resource conditions on system roads and trails. Preliminary planning has also begun for more intensive treatments for future restoration or conversion of unauthorized routes to non-motorized uses.

If you have special accessibility needs in order to participate in the meeting or want information about the Inyo National Forest Travel Management implementation, please contact Marty Hornick at 760-873-2461 or mhornick@fs.fed.us.
