Alison Sierra will continue working at trailheads along Tioga Road until the road closes for the winter. This project is sponsored by the Yosemite Conservancy as part of the Trails Campaign--improvements include better delineation to prevent resource damage, universal design principles to better support visitors with disabilities, and installation of wayside exhibits. The trailheads under construction (from west to east) include Tamarack Flat/Aspen Valley, Yosemite Creek/Ten Lakes, May Lake, Snow Creek, and Gaylor Lakes at the Tioga Pass entrance station. The construction requires temporary, short-term closure of trailheads parking areas, however adjacent parking remains available. For visitor safety, May Lake trailhead will be closed (gate will be locked) to visitors from September 26th until the end of construction.
