This recent CA court ruling raises issues for all NPS and wilderness areas, re-supply for thru-hikers, and trail access for some:

At least the ruling will make NPS look at some of the problems with stock use.

They were sort of taking a look at it this summer as apart of the over plan. There was a document open for public comment here: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=33225
but it appears to be closed now. I sent them my input but so far I have not heard back regarding any outcomes.
