Last fall I got a reservation for Ostrander Hut over Presidents' Day Weekend, and since then have been hoping for snow, any snow, to fall. As I mentioned in the Badger Pass Conditions thread, there is a bare patch on the road east of Bridalveil Creek, and there are rapidly growing bare patches on the Horizon Ridge route between the road and the base of Horizon Ridge. From there onward there's pretty good coverage for snowshoeing, adequate coverage for careful people on skis, and some pretty good snow to be found from the top of Heart Attack Hill onward. It was also quite fun to share the hut after being out exploring with some nice people, including members of the Yosemite Winter Club who were there for the weekend.
