...A change in the weather for central california...
Several weather disturbances rotating around a large pacific storm
System will bring chances for rain and higher elevation snow as
They track across the central california interior this week.
Precipitation chances will initially stay north of kern county
As the storm track remains mostly over northern california. The
Stronger and colder storm system will then drop south through the
Region over the weekend...Bringing heavier rain and snowfall
Amounts along with lower snow levels.
Snow levels will stay around 7000 feet through friday and some
Higher elevation locations around the yosemite area could
Gradually accumulate as much as one foot of total snowfall during
The period. As the stronger storm system moves through over the
Weekend...Snow levels will lower to around 3000 feet. This will
Bring a threat for frozen precipitation to the foothills and to
The passes of kern county. In the higher sierra elevations a
Couple of feet of additional snowfall is possible.
Strong gusty winds will also accompany the incoming storm system
Friday and saturday...Especially through and below the kern county
Mountain passes and over the higher elevations of the sierra.
Sunday could bring a chance for thunderstorms in the san joaquin
Valley...Mainly north of fresno county as the cold unstable air
Moves overhead.
Seasonably mild conditions will come to an end after friday...With
Afternoon highs dropping to as much as 10 to 15 degrees colder
Through monday.
