The Monitor Pass portion of Hwy 89 is now open for the season...

Current State Route 89 Conditions

SR 89
[IN THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA AREA & SIERRA NEVADA]
NO TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ARE REPORTED FOR THIS AREA.


(Note that Hwy 4 (Ebbetts Pass) is still closed, though.)

Yes, very much so. It's usually the first pass to open for the season.

Around now and the end of April. Usually (outside of heavy snowfall years) by May 1st.
