Camping without reservations?

Does anyone have any experience with camping without reservations? End of June showing up on a Friday morning? Coming from Washington and don't wanna end up sleeping in the parking lot at walmart.

I've always been able to get a site in one of the Tioga Road campgrounds by arriving in the morning.

Don't worry about having to sleep in the parking lot of the nearest Walmart (which is located in Sonora, by the way). If you are able to arrive early on a Friday morning you ought to be able to secure a first-come, first-served campsite at a non-reservation campground inside Yosemite National Park (if the campground is open by late June).

Otherwise there almost definitely should be National Forest campgrounds located outside of Yosemite that should have campsites still available on a first-come, first-served basis on a Friday morning.

But if you want to camp inside Yosemite Valley, you'll need a reservation if you're camping in an RV. There's only one non-reservation campground within Yosemite Valley in June. That would be Camp 4, but it's only for walk-in tent camping. No RVs of any type.
