Re: Sunrise Meadows

Went to Sunrise Meadows from Tenaya Lake on 6/7.

Got a good view of Tenaya Canyon off trail, on the way up.

Thanks for posting these videos. Can't get enough viewings of Yosemite, especially when I'm not able to be there!

Was that an earthquake you experienced at the end of the first video (the closeup of Half Dome). A little bit of shaking going on at the very end.

Looks like an 8.0 on the Richter scale. A lot of zoom + stopping the camera = major earthquake. I trimmed off the shaky ending.

My first thought was that you were going to show the meadowy area
above upper most Sunrise Lake.
I guess it makes sense to call the meadow below Bug Dome and
Sunrise HSC Sunrise Meadow. Not sure where the S is.
So is that meadow widely known as Sunrise? And only the LONG meadow
north Long?
Or are they both Long MeadowS?

All good questions. There is often a lot of confusion on naming meadows and where one begins and ends. There also seem to be a lot of un-named meadows. I had always thought it is called Sunrise Meadows around the HSC. The names tend to get mixed up between Sunrise Lakes, HSC and Meadows. I've also seen it referred to as the meadow near Sunrise HSC. I guess it is technically part of Long Meadows. Never understood why meadows are sometimes a meadow or meadows.

Amazing stuff; can't wait to see it with my own eyes in 2 months.

From the south end of Sunrise er South Long Meadow(s), whatever it is called.

I think it should def. be Long Meadow and Sunrise Meadow.
There is a def. separation...
