North Peak Hike
July 19, 2012 03:22PM
Hello,

First week of August i'm staying a few nights near the Saddlebag Lake area. I'm interested in doing a hike to North Peak and was curious how "obvious" the class 2 approach is via the SW face. Is the use trail as "obvious" as the one for Mount Dana? Has anyone ever tracked it and willing to share their gpx?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Its been a while, so this may help (or may not!). I took the kids when they were 10-15 years old or so. I don't recall any use trails, but easy routefinding up past the Conness Lakes to the beautiful glacial tarn about a mile south-southwest of the summit of North Peak. From there, we went about due north up steep sandy slopes (2 steps up, one slide step back) to the ridge, then easy walking to the top.

No track for you, sorry!
