stayed in a signature tent in the middle of winter in the snow. I think there warmer than canvas only tents. Used a wool blanket to cover the door and one on the window to prevent heat from escaping and cold air from entering. They're made of canvas and not very air tight. Actually insulation is non existent.
One negative is that you have to walk to the bathrooms but we solved that by bringing our portable potty and again the wool blankets came in handy. We used them to make a make-shift privacy screen. But loved the fact that you can hear rain or snow falling onto the roof and we were able to literally build a snow-man at our front door!
We didn't have need for the blankets as we brought are winter sleeping bags.
