Seeing Half Dome from Turlock. I've seen the pics and they're hard to believe, but I'm not suggesting they're fake. I saw the previous posts about it in this forum.
Yes, on an exceptionally clear day one can spot Half Dome from the fields outside Denair, from a freeway overpass in Turlock, or even from the Starbucks in Patterson.
And while one can see it with their naked eye from these locations, Half Dome will appear to be very very small. But one doesn't need a high-power telescope. Just a standard 8X binoculars is sufficient to see Half Dome clearly from any of those locations on a very clear day.
