We took a nice hike last week down the JMT to what I guess is called Cathedral Pass. At the highest point on the trail we went off trail 1/4 mile to a nice high spot listed as 10031' on Google Earth. I expected a great view and wasn't disappointed. Here are a few images and some anaglyphs.

Nice. Thx

Cath Pass... it's just N of the meadow area in your 360 pan.
That meadow is the start of Cathedral Fork (which you can follow down and.. never have to
go up and around Columbia) (thus it is a pass... )

Next time you are in the area... head a bit more east... and Echo Lake will appear.

Have fun

Does the place we were at have a name? We thought about going to the next ridge east which was a little lower but a bit farther so we could see Echo Lake but we were getting a little tired and our time was running short.

I never heard any name for it. The ridge east is quite nice. Bearproof and I actually
camped right on that ridge this last memorial day timeframe.
That ridge is very nice too and, without too much daring-doo... you can traverse
nearly the entire thing and then drop down just south of Echo Lake.
Since you're on a ridge... the views are spectacular ... smiling smiley
His thread is here:

He has a few in his set. I probably took 50 or more from that ridge. But not the
best of lighting. Find the one of his with the "river of lava". Had never
seen that before. Really cool.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Your 3D image in that thread has the left/right channels reversed which is why it doesn't work. Flip the glasses upside down and then it works. smiling smiley

On your 2D photo with the arrows pointing to the climbers.
There's one more guy a bit above the lowest guy with an arrow.

That's what I thought too but I have another image taken about 1/2 hour earlier and the "climber" is in the exact same spot so it must be a rock. If I had only one image I would have labeled it as a climber. smiling smiley

OK. Looks like a person hanging on with one hand and looking down
at the bottom guy. I stared at it for 1/2 hour and the "person" still is in the same spot.
So I believe you. smiling smiley Thanks!
