Only took a few IN the valley (there's 4 of those deer signs btw).
Tooks lots OF the valley though.

Here's one with colour from in the valley:

Snow Crk cabin indeed has only 2 bear boxes now. And it's chock full of 5 gallon pails.
Nice

Store owner is taking offers to get Stuffy off the shelf. Orville Pinkenbacher is interested.

Have you (or anyone else on this forum) asked Park officials why they decided to remove the other food lockers from Snow Creek Cabin? What problem were they trying to solve by the removal of the other bear boxes?

Since I'll be in the Valley for Thanksgiving, it's good to know that the store stocks poultry. I do however prefer to cook poultry until there's no pink left... looks like that could take awhile :-(

Awesome! I'm leaving LA at 1300 hours for three days in the valley and hopefully mist/snow.

Nine responses and no pictures?? I'll fix that. smiling smiley

This was taken Wednesday afternoon, probably the last clear snow-free day of the year.

What is the name of this touristy location?

Valley View AKA Gates of the Valley. The snow never lasts this early in the year so there will be some more snow free days.

Thanks for "fixing" that.

Beautiful photograph!

(Even though you forgot to include Half Dome. wink A few more feet to your right and Half Dome would have been in the photo too. smiling smiley )

I chose that spot because it was the best place to see the El Capitan reflection in the water. smiling smiley

That's a 30 image panorama which makes it kind of hard to do 3D. winking smiley It would make a nice 36" x 72" 300 dpi print though.

That would be an awesome print. What did you use to stitch the images together? Info on the seperate images?

I use Photoshop CS5 to stitch the images. I use a Canon 450D and the lens for this image was the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM at 50mm. I use an inexpensive tripod weighted with rocks and a bracket on the pan head that places the camera sensor very close to the center of rotation so that images stitch together properly.

Did you make that bracket or buy it?

This video isn't Yosemite, but has a pretty cool 3D effect. You can buy Pulfrich glasses with one dark lens, but you can get a similar effect by putting sunglasses in front of your left eye.

Here is an article about the Pulfrich Effect.
