A news item that could forever change the face of Yosemite hiking: Hostess strike threatens plant closures, liquidations.

Hoarding appears to be happening already--I mean, look how empty that shelf is. So, the question is:

As long as he only eats truck wiring and not Subaru wiring I guess I'm OK.

That would be sad. Nuttin like a bear can like this baby!

For the record though. Truck wires are pretty yummy.

I've been taking this sort of stuff on trips more and more lately though:

Pop da top. And eat.

Cold?

Doesn't it have the consistency and texture of dog food (especially the chili) when cold?

Me likes my water warm and my Chili cold.

I've only eaten dry dog food so the answer is no.

Wife always said same thing about the Chef Boy R Dee.
She finally gave in on Oregon trip... said it was OK.
That it wasn't as bad as what she thought it would be.

I can only tell you her and I just went on a quick two dayer...
and she carried two cans of Chef Boy R Dee for us to eat for lunch.
Cold. And I didn't even suggest it. She did.

How much do you claim your pack weighs?

I don't get really too hung up on weight for 2-3 day trips.
If it's more than 3 days it's doubtful I'll take cans of food.
But yes, I do also find it somewhat ironic that the can
of Chef Boy R Bee weighs more than my usual shelter.

Hostess and baker's union are going to go into mediation. There is hope yet for twinkie lovers everywhere.

The judge looked at the 300% pay increase the corporate officers gave themselves while demanding pay cuts from the union workers and saw that something's wrong. The million dollar golden parachute that board gave themselves in the bankruptcy while zeroing out the workers pension fund also has something to do with it.

Vulture capitalism at it's finest.

That Hostess rack near the front of the store always gets picked over by the day tourists, the regulars and true Hostess aficionados know to go to the snack rack in the back of the store! winking smiley

On my extended Valley stay this September, I tried some Zingers for the first time in years from this rack. Vanilla was just ~meh~, but the Raspberry....thumbs up grinning smiley
Chick-on, please don't tell me this is the end of the line for Hostess treats, now that I've grown fond of Raspberry Zingers around the campfire at night.

Eventually, he may need to make contingency plans:

Maybe he could even swing an endorsement deal...

We should call them "Clouds Rest Cakes" though.

And add the slogan:
"Eating one of these taste-eee treats might just get you the final Two Tents"
(and then, if possible, have that super fast talking blah blah stuff about
there is only 1 at this price, VIN number yadda yadda yadda thingie on there
with the ending unless u r Bearproof)

You gotta go with Entemann's. They may not have castle at Windsor but they have a display case at the end of the aisle.

Entenmann's is now neck and neck with truck wiring. Been a surge of late. (I figured out how to stuff the ballot box!)
