Closure of Hetchy Road

The Hetchy Road from the Hetchy Entrance to the O'Shaughnessy Dam will be closed until further notice. The outbound lane, 1/4 of a mile west of the Main Street Loop failed under heavy rains and saturated snowfall after Christmas Day. The roadway is not considered safe for regular travel and will be closed to all traffic except Administrative Travel during working hours. Hetch Hetchy Water and Power, the City of San Francisco and the NPS will be helping to restore the roadway. As of yet no determination of a reopening has been identified.
