I am the Chick-on

Wanna ride? I promise it's not steep.

(and if you don't have 3D glasses just put your finger on your nose and stare at it)

You weren't suppose to stick it up your nose.

(and I guess the webmaster didn't like the picture)

Well you at least see me in the conductors seat, no?

btw... the full steps are:
1 - place index finger on nose
2 - start at screen looking thru index finger
3 - smack yourself in head with free hand

Didn't see the Chick-on at first. That makes the shot. Best shot is still chick-on sitting next to Colonel Sanders. I was trying to find the old birth of chick-on with pictures at a carnival game.

The carnival seems like a very appropriate place for chick-on's birth.

I pretty sure Chick-on was hatched way before that photo. You can see him and his siblings stuffed underneath the counter in that photo.

The photo is of the day that Chick-on was adopted by Bill-e-g.

That's why the enlarged photo is better. wink

(BTW, you were sitting in the engineer's seat. The locomotive engineer operates the train. The conductor collects the tickets from the passengers (among other duties).)

Check the movie "Emperor of the North". Ernest Borgnine played a train conductor.

But in real life, it's the engineer that operates the train from the locomotive's cab.

I thought the engineer was the guy that sat in a cubicle and bitched all day.

Do I look like I'm in a cubicle being grossly overpaid?

I didn't think so.

In real life the engineer and the conductor are in the cab. And it's the conductor that is in charge of the train.

Not the conductors I see every time when I ride Caltrain, Metrolink, or Amtrak. smiling smiley

On freight trains they'll ride in the cab nowadays because most freight trains are caboose-less today. But back in the day when most freight trains had a caboose, the conductor would reside in the caboose while the engineer was in the cab.

It's very much a real train that operated inside Yosemite National Park. It was used to help haul supplies and material to the O'Shaughnessy Dam site via the Hetch Hetchy Railroad.
