That's a Nice Beach!

Merriam Lake? I don't remember a beach there, but I gave the lake a pretty wide berth due to the naked couple relaxing on the shoreline.

Going up there next weekend for 4 days to do some fishing.

Ya. Dats Merriam. A Beautiful Lake.

Nearly every single lake on the route from Piute Pass TH to Pine Creek TH had a beach... and fish.
Even the supposedly prettiest view lakes:


And the ugliest lake in all of the Sierra (or something like that):


Def. the gem of the trek imo was Feather area. Loved that the most:

Feather definitely has its fair share of white granite. That trail getting up to Merriam is STEEP!

Had to look this up...I thought the area looked familiar. My first cross-country venture (early-mid 1990s) was...not really over Puppet/Carol, but dropping down into Star Lake (thence onward to Moon, where I camped). I do not recommend my chosen route, though I loved the campsite...
