Makes sense to me. I'd rather see more hydroelectric than a nuclear or fossil fueled plant.

In this case I think most the environmental damage has already been done so the project makes a lot of sense.

As a (domestic) downstream water user of Pine Creek, this is not a desirable project. In the past decade or so, even in the record/near record precip years, the area of Rock Creek and Pine Creek have lagged behind in average water content. Pine Creek barely had water this year. If not for the water that comes out of the tunnels of the Pine Creek mine, we may have been in big trouble on this second drought year. So any diversion or disruption of the flows, added turbidity or other byproducts of such a project is not worth the little amount of electricity that this hydro plant would generate.
