The Hetch Hetchy Road is open to visitor traffic while Hetch Hetchy Water and Power and AT&T conduct utility repair operations along the roadway for the next couple of months to repair fire damaged electrical and communication infrastructure. Visitors should expect single lane closures, and at times full closures, of the road as the utility repair is undertaken. On November 5 and 6 the road will be closed to facilitate the utility repair work. Please drive slowly along the road and watch out for construction workers and stopped vehicles.

As of Tuesday, October 29, the trail from the O'Shaughnessy Dam to Wapama Falls and beyond is open. The backpacker's campground is also open. All other backcountry areas accessed from the trailheads along the Hetch Hetchy Road and O'Shaughnessy Dam areas will remain closed until further notice due to impacts from the Rim Fire.
