Black bears crash student dorms: Black bears at Sierra Nevada College have adapted to student life on the Tahoe campus a little too well, the college's newspaper Eagle’s Eye reports. The bears have learned how to open windows and raid students’ dorm rooms for food. Students say that a bear will break into their house -- sometimes on multiple occasions in one week. And bears seem to have adjusted their hibernation schedule around trash day. Bears will raid garbage cans for a day or two and then hibernate the rest of the week, the Nevada Department of Wildlife says.
