Above 7000 feet...

The national weather service in reno has issued a winter weather
Advisory above 7000 feet for snow...Which is in effect until noon
Pst thursday.

* timing: snow will increase this evening with brief periods of
Heavy snow. The snowfall will briefly diminish overnight before
Light snow resumes in the morning.

* snow accumulations: 8 to 14 inches above 8000 feet with 3 to 6
Inches down to 7000 feet. Up to 2 inches thursday morning as low
As 6500 feet.

* snow levels: falling to near 6500 feet.

* impacts: snow will make higher elevation passes slushy and
Snowpacked this evening into thursday morning. This includes
Devils gate summit...Conway summit and deadman summit along
Highway 395.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Snow is expected to pose an inconvenience to travelers. Roads
Will become slick and hazardous...With snow and ice first
Developing on bridges and overpasses. Motorists should slow down
