Bears are active this winter

With mild weather and a lack of recent snow to cover up natural food sources including acorns, many bears have not entered winter hibernation in Yosemite National Park. Over the past few weeks, bears have been active daily in Yosemite Valley. Areas with the greatest number of bear sightings include Camp 4 and Upper Pine campgrounds as well as popular picnic areas like Swinging Bridge.

And of course, some bears would just rather hit the slopes, like this bear at Heavenly this past Friday:

How did the bear pay for a lift ticket?

Given how timid black bears usually are around humans it would seem it required quite a bit of determination by this one to get wherever it wanted to go through all that human activity.
