Re: V9 marker now V7?

I received some information that the trailhead parking area for Rainbow View has changed markers. In the past it was V9 and I was told it is now been replaced with a V7 marker. Can anybody confirm this?

Just for the record, Google's "Street View" still shows it marked as V9 (but I don't know how old that snapshot is).

The google image has a date of May of 2012.

I have a photo of the sign at Old Big Oak Flat Rd. on Northside drive from last year. Still V9.
I'll take a look this weekend.

Park has been replacing signs... and the Yosemite Road Guide has been updated..
(been meaning to pick one up)
Would be surprised if the valley markers changed numbers though.

Yes, the new Road Guide lists the OBOFR as V7 now. Actually, quite a few designations have been changed or deleted and I would assume that the various markers would be updated accordingly. Last time I was in the Park (last Sept), I seem to recall seeing some of the new signs but I wasn't checking systematically. Given my passion for the old roads, you'd think that V9/V7 would have been one I'd have explicitly looked for but, if I did, I can't remember off the top of my head!

If I have some free time, maybe I'll do a side-by-side comparison of the old vs new marker designations and put that up in a separate thread.
