Park rangers have completed the April 1 snow surveys. The water content of the snowpack in the Tuolumne drainage is 33% of average and in the Merced drainage it is 28% of average. The lower elevation courses are particularly dry, with several setting new records for the date.

Yeah, I wish the 12% of average reported for the Rock Creek drainage was an April Fool's joke, but it isn't. crying

Don't despair. Most of this data was collected before or at least between recent storms. My guess is that the higher parts of Tuolumne drainage have gotten a few feet of snow since the measurements were taken.

Hey, at least the skeeters will be dried out earlier this year.

I would rather have lots of snow, water, and mosquitoes.
