Smoke will continue to be visible from the fire to many locations within Yosemite. The fire is approximately 20 miles from the park near McClure Lake. It has grown to over 1,600 acres, and over 670 personnel are assigned, although none are from Yosemite. Helicopter 551 was part of the initial attack on May 26. The fire underscores the need to be diligent with your ongoing defensible space measures and water conservation.
