The blasting in Lyell Canyon has been pushed back to Monday 9/22/14 at approximately 11:00 am. The blast site is approximately 1/3 mile north of the Ireland Creek junction. There will be a delay to trail traffic of up to 1 hour.

So why are they re-routing the trail? Rockfall or something?

Usually to get the trail out of the grassy area and up on granite.
