At last Wednesday’s local government meeting here in Lee Vining we got the official word from the Yosemite National Park Superintendent via our Mono County Supervisor that Tioga Pass will open on Friday, May 1.

The Mono Lake website is the only place I've seen the date mentioned at all. So, no, there's been no confirmation.

Caltrans is closing Highway 120 from Highway 395 to the Yosemite NP entrance gate at Tioga Pass tomorrow. Cleaning up some of the rockfall areas...hopefully this in preparation of the pass opening Friday or Saturday!

Yep...I've been listening to the local news, calling phone #'s and checking websites. I was geared up to go today (or at least tomorrow...) Anyway, finally got the announcement we've been waiting for!
