Re: Tioga Road Rehabilitation (Update No. 9)

Crews are continuing to pave the top mat of the Tioga Road as well as working on the adjacent turnouts and parking areas. NOTE: There will be no work and no traffic delays occurring this upcoming holiday weekend starting this coming Friday morning, May 22nd thru Monday, May 25th. So crews won't be back on site until Tuesday, May 26th to complete the remaining two days of work.

Sunday evenings from 10:00 p.m. to Saturday Night at 8:00 p.m.

• 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., 1 hour delays
• 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., 15 minute delays
• 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 30 minute delays
• 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 15 minute delays
• 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 30 minute delays

On Tuesday June 16th we got stopped on Tioga road for the construction. We spoke with the flag lady about progress on the road. She said they're way ahead of schedule because of the dry winter and the work they did before the road was opened. They expect to be finished with the project in about a month, not November like stated on the Yosemite road conditions page. Let's hope that's true.

I sure wish I would have seen this before we went on Friday. It took almost 2 hours from the valley to TM. It was well worth the drive though.
